Like my new blog name? Pretty dern clever, eh? Yeah, prolly it’ll be even MORE clever when I actually have a garden.  So, I wanted to show how we get in our veggies.  It’s quick.  Easy.  Healthy.  We’ve been doing this for years, literally years.  The kids are so used to pulling this out at lunch and dinner it is a total no brainer for them.  We just do it.  We call these our “snack vegetables”.  Which is a really weird name because we really don’t eat them for snacks, we eat them with lunch and dinner.   Every week I buy 2 bags carrots, 2 bunches broccoli, 1 bag snap peas, 1 cucumber.  Between the four of us, this takes care of our veggies for our lunch and dinners for about a week.  We used to dip em’ into ranch but now we go a’ naturale’.  Just gobble them up plain, because it’s healthier and it’s also fun to torture the kids.
I’m just kidding, actually the kids just started eating them without ranch so now we just don’t bother.  Plus we don’t wanna be openin’ up all kinds of bottles of dressings, using who knows how many napkins. Geez.

ABOUT DANELLE

DaNelle started to take an interest in a healthier lifestyle after suffering from two debilitating chronic diseases. On a mission to create a farm of her own, DaNelle forced, or rather 'lovingly persuaded' her husband to purchase a ranch home on an acre of land and transform it into their very own urban farm. DaNelle blogs at Weed 'em & Reap where she writes about the sustainable backyard farming, traditional food, & natural remedies.
