Who’s ready for school? WHOOP WHOOP!

Whether you school your children at home, send ’em down to a local neighborhood school, or live on an island in the middle of nowhere and life IS your school (jealous!), I’ve got the best back to school essential oil blends for ya’.

Essential oils are the oils distilled from plants, roots, herbs, leaves, & stems. The result is a highly-concentrated liquid that has some amazing properties. Essential oils can relieve occasional digestive discomfort, support overall respiratory health, soothe sore muscles & joints, and more! Much, much more!

Today we’re focusing on the best essential oils to have on hand when going back to school. When it comes to essential oils & kids, less is more. 1-2 drops are all you need to notice improvement!

Sending kids to school with essential oils

There are a few ways to send these back to school essential oil blends with your kids. You can either pre-make these blends and put them in roll-on bottles (you’ll have to multiply the recipes by 10 to fill up the bottles), or if you don’t think your kids will want to apply them at school (“SO embarrassing, Mom!!”), you can try a diffuser necklace or bracelet, or even try these essential oil sniffers.

While it’s great to apply these blends to your body, even just smelling them can have powerful effects. It’s called aromatherapy, and trust me, it works.

A word about some of the blends

You’ll notice I recommend two blends to go in, well, the blends. It’s like back to school essential oil blend Inception. Let me explain. There are some pre-made blends you can purchase that have a combo of the most effective oils. Purchasing these save you TIME & MONEY, which is awesome. The first blend in this image is the Protective Blend. The protective blend is a blend of the essential oils wild orange, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary. The second blend listed is the Digestive blend. The digestive blend is a blend of the essential oils ginger, peppermint, tarragon, fennel, caraway, coriander, and anise. Instead of purchasing each of these essential oils separately, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND grabbing them pre-made.

    Hi Danelle
I have essential oils. I use them both in the little machines and on my body for pain. I have one problem most healing or pain combos contain lemon. My daughter and myself are both very allergic to lemons in any form. The Question here is are there any pain relief oils with out citrus?

      Hi Linda-
That does make it difficult to find a good blend if you are allergic to lemon. doTERRA does have a line called Deep Blue that may be appropriate for you. Check it out here and see if it may work for your needs: https://www.doterra.com/US/en/education/pe/deep-blue-oil

I hope that helps. Thank you -Bobbi (DaNelle’s Assistant)

Can you tell me if you have a oil to keep head lice away? My daughter starts school this year and has very long hair I would love to avoid her getting it if an outbreak occurs!

      Hi Chelsea-
Yep, there is a great oil blend for that. Terrashield is what you want to use. You can find links to that oil and others here: https://www.weedemandreap.com/essential-oils-for-traveling/

This article talks about using it as a natural bug spray, but also as a add-in to your kids shampoo for lice treatment and lice prevention.

      I hope that helps!

The back to school essential oil blend graphic is the best and most helpful on the web. Alot of other blends out there that people claim to use are terrible. Lemon and Rosemary is the best.

I’m fairly new to using oils. Bought my first kit in July. What is your favorite oil Brand? I’m currently using dōTERRA but, they are a bit on the pricey side. Is there a brand out there that is a bit less without sacrificing quality?

      Hi Julee,

I use doTERRA. I’ve found that they last longer and have the most effectiveness.

If you signed up people so they can take advantage of the wholesale prices than that would help detour some of the costs of the oils. I would try that before switching brands. Doterra is the only company that is therapeutic grade.

Are your recipe list amounts for one time applications or how long should that mix last? Is that just a sample size bottle it would go in or what?

Can they be diffused in those amounts? And would you need coconut oil if diffusing?

Yes, they can be diffused, but I wouldn’t include the coconut oil when diffusing.

I”m still new to the oils and roller ball blends. Once they are made. Is there a place that is best to apply? and how often during the day?

Really, you can apply it anywhere on the body where you’re having the issue, as long as you avoid the eyes or ears:) Most people rub on their wrists or chest or the back of the neck. The bottom of the feet is also a popular place:)
