For a while now I’ve been struggling with some illnesses. My back, first of all has been hurting ever since I had E. After years of chiropractors, doctors, and more chiropractors, I have finally found the answer to why I’m in such pain. Turns out I have a tear and a bulge in one of my disks, and just a bulge in the lower one. On top of that I have denerative disk disease which is what they call it when your disks wear down at an early age. I have found a group of wonderful surgeons in Phoenix who do breakthrough surgeries to repair this. It pays to do your research and take control of your health! (Such a blessing that The Husband’s job has good health insurance) On top of this I have had this crippling dizziness problem for a good 2 years. Unbelieveable! I keep thinking why am I so sick, I’m too young to have these problems. I am not the skinniest person in the room by any means, but I would consider myself normal, a good eater even. I am continuing on my quest to study how I can create a healthy body to carry me the rest of my life. We go to the library every Monday night for family night and I am constantly reading books on health. Here are my latest ones….Some of the things I have learned have been fascinating.
This one is awesome. Its about how sickness makes us stronger and how we as a sickness-phobic community add things to our food to make us healthier but in ways it makes us sicker. Also talks about sickness throughout history
This one is by this famous herb guy who talks about all the things to do to enable your body to heal itself. A lot of rules go with things we already do in our church. Fasting once a month…Don’t watch TV or any kind of media one day a week. So I like this book. He says to enjoy nature to, which I realized I don’t do that much.
This is a good book, halfway through I realized it’s about THE ZONE diet. I’m ALOT skeptical about hardly any whole grains thing, but I agree about more veggies and fruits, like 2/3 of you meal should be them. I tried it, and I was stuffed. They really fill you up and you eat so much more food! GO FRUITS & VEGGIES!
