Kevin & I had a fun surprise this weekend. Grandma & Grandpa ‘Scilla took the kids to the cabin and left us here A L O N E! Can you believe it?
Kevin said, “Let’s stay out all night! Let’s stay out ’till….12:00am!”
And then we both had a good laugh at the fact that 12am isn’t really staying out all night.
Our first stop: Name Brand Exchange. About every 6 months or so, Kevin’s brother Rusty disperses his old(& namebrand) clothes to his poor unfashionable siblings. The problem is, they usually don’t fit Kevin or his brother & we usually just give them to Goodwill, but this time I decided we should try to sell them! (shhhh don’t tell Rusty)
Then out to eat at Black Angus, where we shared a sampler platter. Fried Zucchini & Buffalo Wings for Kevin, Potato Skins & Cocktail Shrimp for me. Then Kevin ate all the bread while I watched with a sad face. Read about my recent change to my diet HERE. After dinner, Kevin was hell bent on finding me dessert.
Kevin -“Let’s find you a frozen yogurt place.”
Kevin -“C’mon, you know you want some.”
DaNelle -“Of course I want some, but I can’t because they all have sugar and I can’t have sugar. (insert really sad face)”
Kevin -“Maybe we can find a healthy frozen yogurt, sweetened with honey.”
DaNelle -“I can’t have honey either! *sigh*”
But GUESS WHAT! We found a Frozen Yogurt place that sweetens with Stevia! YAY!
My heart leapt with joy when I read this! Oh my gosh I would have paid $20 for that frozen yogurt.
They had 2 flavors sweetened with Stevia, one was Salty Caramel -but they were out 🙁 The other was vanilla, but I wasn’t bummed because yay! it was sweetened with Stevia!
And then Kevin found this and seriously I could have kissed the man right there in front of everybody!
Organic Fruit. Carob Chips. Frozen yogurt sweetened with Stevia but tasting like sugar. The total? $2.18
Best. Dessert. Ever. Local peeps, it’s on Superstition Springs Rd., east of Red Robin. And they’re opening another location! Website HERE.
Kevin got me to stop gabbin’ about the yogurt place long enough to sit and watch a movie. A late night movie that is. Yes, we’re cool like that.
Okay, I know this movie’s been out for like a year already or something, (even the ticket guy made fun of us) but I still wanted to see it. Except I couldn’t stop thinking about how Kristen Stewart was cheating on poor Rob Pattinson during this whole movie. And then afterwards it took me FOREVER to explain that whole scandal to Kevin. And then he made fun of me for calling it Snowman and the Huntsman. And then we laughed at how the the plot of that movie would be. It was a good date night and we ended it at 12:00am when we went out to milk the goats in the hot muggy Arizona air (totally romantic) and collapsed in our beds because well, we were tired. Staying out all night does that to ya’.
I always thought I was an early riser but apparently it’s just because of the kids because we slept in until 9:30. Crazy! After the late morning milking and gathering eggs, we made omelets and spent the day relaxing and enjoying a day together alone. But we missed the kids and called to see if they were surviving.
They were having a blast! Thanks to G & G ‘Scilla for the awesome weekend!
