Lose Weight ‘FO REALZ’ This Year
It’s that time of year again!!!! Yes, the dreaded New Year’s Resolution in which we once again pinky promise cross our hearts and swear on our Nana’s grave that we will LOSE WEIGHT THIS YEAR!
But I’m here to tell you that THIS. IS. THE. YEAR!
And you will feel happy while doing it. And satisfied. And nourished. And next year you’ll be helping others lose weight!
Over a year ago I lost 30 lbs. And do you want to know how I did it? Well here’s what I did NOT do it..
- I DID NOT take weight-loss pills.
- I DID NOT exercise.
- I DID NOT count one single calorie or use portion control.
- I DID NOT eat low-fat.
Well, then what did I do?
I ate REAL FOOD. WHOLE & UNPROCESSED.
and I also…
- ATE whenever I wanted, even late at night.
- ATE dessert every. single. day.
- ATE foods I desired, just substituted bad ingredients for good.
- ATE a balance of all food groups, in a balance my body naturally desired.
YOU CAN DO IT!
We as humans make things so complex, but losing weight is so simple. Here are your NEW simple rules:
1. Avoid processed food (anything with 5 or more ingredients on the package) like the plague.
Every time you eat a processed, packaged food that your body doesn’t recognize, it decides to store it in your fat cells instead. Trust me on this one. Avoid avoid avoid. Make yourself a batch of delicious homemade cookies and eat those for a snack during the week. Whatever you do, don’t turn to the bad stuff.
2. Purchase food in the best form you can find/afford & enjoy it!
FRUITS & VEGETABLES: Organic is best, do the best you can. If you can’t buy organic, don’t sweat it, just shop the sales. Eat what you love. God has placed a huge variety for you. There’s gotta be something you like!
DAIRY: Eat WHOLE FAT dairy. That’s right. Low-fat dairy will make you FAT!
Trust me on this one. Enjoy butter, cheese, milk, yogurt but do your best to find the highest-quality you can afford.
MEATS: Again, try to find the highest quality, either organic or grass-fed. If you can’t, don’t worry, just try to buy meat in whole pieces like a whole chicken. That way you can make healing bone broth which will help stretch that budget of yours!
FATS: Don’t be afraid of fat! Use butter, lard, tallow, coconut oil or olive oil! Read a fascinating article about why you should eat lard.
3. Forget all your rules about low-carb, low-fat, or calorie intake and JUST EAT!
Fat is awesome because it tells your body it is full! Food is meant to be enjoyed and savored! Forget about all the silly rules for losing weight. Our ancestors ate full fat meals and had beautiful bodies.
With this lifestyle of TRUE EATING, you should expect 1-2 pounds of weight loss a week. The time will pass fast though, because you will feel satisfied and happy! Life is a journey and enjoy the ride!
